Creating a photogrammetric project

You can create a photogrammetric project from scratch or import it from the following formats:

DEPHOS
PEX
Image Station
ERDAS OrthoBase
Leica
Leica EO Report
Autometric SoftPloter

Create a project from scratch

Run the Manager module and start edition of a new project.
Fill in the information in the following bookmarks:

Project
Camera
Photos
Models
Controls

Having filled in all the information save the project using Save button or the option in the menu File->Save As..
Once you create and save a project, next step is to execute an Interior Orientation of photos.
Then, if elements of the photos exterior orientation are not given, carry out an Exterior Orientation.



Import – DEPHOS

To import a project working in the DEPHOS system means just to open an "imported" project in an appropriate module of the MANAGER and then to set appropriate paths for photo rasters.



Project import – PEX

Pex files may include one or any number of models.
File -> Import Project -> PEX will open the PEX project import dialogue. Choose Browse and select the files with PEX extension. The selected files appear in the Import From Files list. To can get information about a file content, select the file and the information appears in the right hand window.
Click OK and data will be imported to the project. Once you import a project, information about models are already filled, however, you should fill in the information about cameras and photos (cameras created in import are just as they were in pex files). It is necessary to fill in all the information about all the cameras in the Camera bookmark.

In the Photos bookmark select all the raster files in the Image File.

Once you saved a project, carry out an Interior orientation for all the photos.



Project import – Image Station

The Manager imports a project from Image Station in ASCII format. Select in menu File -> Import Project -> Image Station and it opens the IS project import dialogue. Choose Browse and select the „project" file, which is one of the Image Station project files. In the Files to import list you can select the information you want to import. Default - all information.
Measurements lets you select the values of measurements of control and tie collimating marks coordinates to be imported. Observed imports the original measurement values and Refined imports the values corrected in an aerotriangulation.
Save oryginal data lets you copy data elements without any modification. E.g. an imported photo has not only appropriate values but also an Original text file filled in with a text from Image Station project "photos" file. OK button runs project import that will last until Import completed note appears in the Preview file.

To finish the import just change access paths for photos raster files.



Project import – ERDAS OrthoBase

File -> Import Project -> ERDAS OrthoBase opens the ERDAS OrthoBase project import dialogue.
After you select a file with Browse button many files in bookmarks are filled in with information saved in the project.
Once you import and save a project create models, change access paths for photos and supplement information about a camera (PPBS location and distortion information).



Project import – Leica

Information from sup extension files are being imported in this case.
Select the files and click OK button.

Photos with exterior orientation elements are imported now.
Once you import and save a project create models, change access paths for photos, create cameras definition and supplement Camera Name file in photos.



Project import – Leica EO

It imports information regarding Photos Exterior Orientation Elements only.



Project import – Autometric SoftPloter

The Manager imports a project from SoftPloter programme in ASCII format. Select in menu File -> Import Project -> Autometric SoftPloter and it opens the Autometric SoftPloter project import dialogue. Choose [...] and select a file with a project. You can see the file in File preview. Select OK to start the import.

To finish the import just change access paths for photos raster files.
Create models from photos and check cameras definitions.
