INTERIOR ORIENTATION
Previous  Top  Next

This module lets you carry out photogrammetric photos interior orientation. Interior orientation is a process used to define function calculating raster system pixel coordinates into their relevant collimating coordinates. Interior orientation is a crucial element of each photogrammetric work.
In the current version, the interior orientation is calculated by means of two functions, affine and conformal, presented in formulas.

Afine function:

X=
A0 + A1 * x + A2 * y
Y=B0 + B1 * x + B2 * y

Conformal function:

X=
A0 + A1 * x - B1 * y
Y=B0 + B1 * x + A1 * y

Project Opening

In the File menu Open Project... position opens a dialogue to select a project file with „fpr" extension. The project has to be created in the Manager programme.

Photo Selection

To open a photo it has to be defined in the Manager programme and the image to be opened has to exist.
In the Select Photo line, select the appropriate strip in the Strips list and then set up a photo in the Photos list and click Open Photo.
Once you open a photo you will see its different enlargments in three windows. If photo measurements were already carried out, previous measurements will appear in the Fiducials Marks table.

Fiducials Selection

Having selected a photo select a sequence of fiducials.
Select the first fiducial from the list, indicate it on the photo, then select the next fiducial in the table.

Simplification:
When you press the mouse's right button over the photo, you go automatically to the next fiducial. If at least two fiducials were previuosly selected, enlargements will be set up in the place where the next fiducial should be.

Interior Orientation Calculations

Select an appropriate function from the Orientation Type list and press Calculate button. In the table you will find calculation results in the form of deviations on collimating marks in [mm], where dX and dY are coordinates deviations, and dL is the distance from the calculated point to a given point.
If you can not accept the calculations results, it is possible to freeze the highlighted point with
Freeze and calculate once again ommiting the frozen point. For the conformal function you need at least two points, and at least three ones for the afine function.

Saving Results

After calculation is made select Save to save the results.
Once you select Save the programme will ask whether the measured fiducial mark coordinates shall be saved (Save Fiducial marks coordinates?) and then whether to save the calculation results (Save Interior Orientation Parameters?).
When you close the programme or when you choose a new photo the programme will ask about saving results (Save Result?) and then about saving the measured fiducial marks coordinates (Save Fiducial marks coordinates?) and about saving calculation results (Save Interior Orientation Parameters?)
