Using this module you can create a view and calculate a DTM – Digital Terrain Model

DTM View
To represent a terrain model you should first generate a TIN (triangles grid) from a file including data about DTM.
To do it select the File > Create TIN from DET file. Create New Surface dialogue is displayed where you define the surface name in the Name field.
Then, in Tri File field define the access path to a file controlling TIN creation (this is the same file that you use in generating contour lines - see: Contouring -TRI Format). If you don't define the controlling file, the programme shall calculate a triangles grid basing on all the elements included in the DTM data file.
Add a file with DTM data Add (press Delete if you want to delete), this list may include more than one file.
You can define the triangulation limit Limit triangle edge's length to, which defines the maximum length of a section being a forcing element in triangulation (breakline).
You can also use a file with surface definition - Use Surface Definition.
To confirm any selected operation choose OK.
TIN is generated and you can transform it into GRID (squares grid) according to your needs, of a given grid side dx, dy [m]

Calculations

Create GRID By Substracting Two Surface
Once you select this command, the Dialogue is displayed (select desired surfaces in two windows). As a result you get a surface of a given grid side (dx, dy), including information about difference between two selected surfaces in its tie points.
Don't show differences less than – D= …[m] option is a parameter deciding what difference values will not be displayed in an output Grid.
Use range of colors […] option divides a generated GRID into colored errors ranges, according to a given „D" parameter.

Transformation
You can vertically move Det in relation to another surface. In the In Det file select a surface in relation to which you want to raise/lower a given surface. This function is similar to Create GRID By Substracting Two Surface, however it does not substract surface but adds them. To lower a given surface Out Det, define In Det surface of a minus value.

Absolute/Relative option– defines relation level in calculations
Don't move if zero option– if value is zero it doesn't raise/lower the model

Other functions
In DTM Utility model you can save a view output in a bitmap image file.
