DTM Utility



Description:
This module makes a view and calculations on DTM possible (DTM – Digital Terrain Model).
Tool available only in the Mapper 2D.

Load DTM Utility



Description:
Load DTM Utility module is an application of the Mapper programme and lets you create a view and calculate on a Digital Terrain Model.
Run: Select Load DTM Utility in the DTM Utility line.
Dialogue: Once you run Create Grid the following window appears:

Open	opens previously saved grids from *.deb type files

Convert

imports files from the Intergraph grid (*.grd) system to the DEPHOS *.deb system

Delete

deletes selected grid

Info	displays information about DTM - Surface

Export

export to a txt file

Tin	creates TIN of a currently opened det file

Create Grid



Description:
Create Grid module is an application of the Mapper programme and is used to generate a grid of evenly arranged points (squares grid).

Run: Select Create Grid in the DTM Utility line.

Dialogue: Once you run Create Grid the following window appears:


Here you define a step of a squares grid being generated.
Select a DTM fragment you want to save in a *.deb file.



Crossection


Description:
Crossection Module is an application of the Mapper programme and it is used for crossections on a given DTM model.

Run: Select Crossection in the DTM Utility line.

Dialogue: Once you run Crosssection the following window appears:



In the Crossection window enter a step of a crossection chart, in the Chart Properties you can define chart scales both for X and Y axis.



Create Map


Description:
Create Map module is an application of the Mapper programme and it is used to generate various map types of an area defined on a DTM model.

Run: Select Create Map in the DTM Utility line.

Dialogue: Once you run this option the following window appears:

Map Type

choose a map type to be generated by the programme

Border points coordinates

coordinates for which a map will be generated. Define Border button - area definition

Pixel Size

defines pixel size in the terrain scale

Color Table File

color table used by the programme to generate a map

Result File

result file options (access path, file's name, Show Preview, Save Result to DET File, Grid resolution - step of a vector map being generated

NOTE! it is recommended that the output grid size is larger or equal to a real grid

Map Settings

map options depending on a generated map type. Below you will find detailed descriptions.

Hipsometric Map

Creates a terrain hipsometric map of given parameters:

Min. Z

lowest height value obtained from DTM, see Load DTM Utility - INFO

dZ	contouring cut

Min. Color

original color, taken from color table

Max. Color

final color

Backgr. Color

background color

Slope Map

Map will include information about a terrain slope.


Min. Angle   minimum terrain slope angle to be used in calculations
dA   step of examinated angle of a terrain slope

Azimuth Map
Map will include a division of slope directions in accordance with given parameters.
E.g. if Azimuth Zero = 90 and Azimuth Range = 1 the created map includes only slopes of azimuth 90 degrees plus/minus 1 degree.


Flood Range Map


Water Level   
Flood Area Col.   color of a flood area

Visibility Map
Visibility map from a point

PositionX, PositionY   "observation point" coordinates
Get Coordinates   reads coordinations of an "observation point" as it is selected on a DTM
PositionZ   observer's height [m]
Vis. Terrian   visible terrain color



Show all DTM


Description:
This function adjusts a zoom to show the whole DTM.

Run: Select Show All DTM in the DTM Utility line.
